Title: Truth, Fictionally.
Fandom: Push / Wolverine: The Origins
Pairing: Kira Hudson / Kayla Silverfox
Kink: emotional manipulation
Word count: 710
Notes: Kayla does Stryker's bidding, and goes to capture Kira. In the movie, Kayla's power is tactile mind control and it's not that clear how that power functions, so I just made stuff up. Yep. Sorry.
”You are so out of your league, little girl. Give me your best shot.”
She remembered it all like it was yesterday.
There is a scent of lavender and summer wind, captured in the folds of the soft sheets. Kira's eyes are closed when she kisses her, like she is still sleeping, but it is just a ploy to catch more kisses. The night breeze carries the sound of the waves into the room. She tickles her to make her open her eyes, and smile at her, to say that she is a meanie and a terrible girlfriend, disturbing her sleep like this. What could she do to make it up to her? They kiss, and kisses turn into caress and that turns into...
The memory evaporated.
”That's your best shot? A Harlequin fantasy? Stupid girl.” Kayla scoffed, tightening her hold on Kira's bare arm. “Let me make you feel something shinier.”
Kayla forced her will against hers, flooding her conscious mind with pure feeling, no images, no stories, just rampant shot of chemicals lighting up her brain. Kira gasped under the weight of the emotions. Kayla twisted her hand, turning up the heat inside Kira. Her knees buckled and she trembled like a leaf. Kayla didn't loose her grip on her.
“That is pure, unaltered desire, little girl. I bet your boy here can't give it to you this good, hm?” Kayla glanced at the corner where the man was sitting, his head lolling and hands relaxed. She had shot him with a tranquilizer, to keep him from interfering. Kayla turned her attention back to Kira. “Now, Stryker wants you and I'm going to deliver you, so stop playing stupid games. You stand up, walk out and get in the car and take my word for it, you will feel really fabulous while doing it.”
“Bitch.”
The black was thick as oil.
Her hands hurt from being tied up. It's cold and the floor is hard, the wood is polished, shiny and old. The air smells faintly of bee wax and dust. The tip of the whip is trailing in front of her eyes, back and forth, like a cat toy. The fear is a black cloud inside her head, and she bits her lip so hard that she can taste the blood. The whip makes a sizzling sound, then a high pitched 'swoosh', a crackle and a pop. The pain bursts through her skin, red and black...
Kayla tried to shook the false memory away, but on her back the ghost wounds throbbed and burned. She tried to take a deep breath, but couldn't. Her body reported only pain.
“Your mind doesn't like happy endings, that's why the first push didn't work. But now I got you, little girl. “ Kira smiled sweetly and started to pry her hand away from her arm, finger by finger. “Here is what we will do. You will walk out of here, and get in the car because you know what I'll do to you if you don't. You can't disobey me and really, you don't even want to.”
Kayla tried to build her defenses back up. The little touch she had left, she thrust fear and doubt into Kira's mind, causing her to waver. It would've worked if Nick hadn't woken up just that moment.
She had calculated the tranquilizer strength wrong, and while they had been locked in the combat, Nick had slowly swam back to consciousness. It was a half luck, half Kayla's position close to the door that allowed him to slam a force field on her and crash her into the door frame. Her head banged against wood with a loud thud and she was out.
“About damn time Nick! She almost got me!”
“I knew you could manage. Help me up, would you.” Kira steadied him while he got up to his wobbly legs. “That is some good stuff she gave me, wow. Cassie should've mention that. Did you get anything useful?”
“She mentioned this guy, Stryker. I think Division is outsourcing its problems, she isn't like any pusher I've ever met. That's trouble. We better leave.”
“Couldn't agree with you more, love. Guide me toward the door.”
