Project Finish WIP diary, update
Apr. 27th, 2012 08:25 amI started using a project managing tool that aims to help build structure into your workdays. The central idea is to determine three small tasks for each day, and those tasks should move the writing forward but not be too difficult/complicated so you can finish them in a day.
I used 15 minutes 'Write Or Die' sessions for writing and 25 minute sessions for editing as my day tasks. At first it felt too little; about an hour from my day. But I noticed that my concentration improved - instead wasting time to worrying about stories I should be writing, I focused on the story I was writing for fifteen minutes.
I tallied the word count and in three days I've written 1450 words! That is good progress, considering I hadn't written a word for these WIP's for months! This would be a great pace to keep up!
Accomplished: 1 read through, 1450 words, 3-5 pages edited, notebooks tagged for usable bits of writing.
To improve: didn't work much with MFEA-fic, one day task missed.
Goals: MFEA read through, editing and cutting Wild-fic, brainstorming ideas for IHA-fic.
