This could be progress
Apr. 1st, 2013 08:38 pmI've been experimenting with the quick writing style and I racked up 8 296 words between the 25th and yesterday. Not bad at all! In addition, I've been writing big chunks of text in longhand.
Mostly I've been working with Path's ending. I was having really bad time with it - endings are a big problem to me in the best of cases, and this is a difficult one. Plus, I'm feeling guilty for letting this story drag on. I posted the first chapter over a year ago, and its still unfinished.
The Fic Rush group helped me by noticing that instead chasing after the impossible Perfect Ending, I should just try out different scenarios, keep bits I like and toss the rest. I might not manage the most elegant of all endings, but I'm happy with one that works and ties up all the careless plot threads I threw in that fic.
This isn't the first time I've said this, but I really wish I had a beta reader. I bet half the problems could be solved with some brainstorming and fresh view to the whole mess.
But new month, new goals!
