It rains, I have time
Jun. 24th, 2014 01:26 pmAfter the DOFP there has been a steady stream of kudos on my old work (the Logan/Charles smut ones especially) and it has been really interesting experience. Mostly because I don't remember writing some of these stories, so I stare at the kudos list and go 'huh?' :D
Short memory or bad titles? Must be one or the other.
I was going through my AO3 works when I signed up for the X-Men Remix, and I realized I have posted only 3 XMFC stories this year, and one of those is a remix. That's not much of new stuff - of course there's plenty of old ones but maybe that's a bit boring? I do have the five fics I wrote for the XMFC bingo last year, I didn't post them on AO3 because they are short (under 1K). Those could be good for remixing though, I've always found shorter stories have more "room", so to speak, for the remix.
Other than that, I've been reading murder mysteries (it's the official genre of any cold summer). I read John Ajvide Lindqvist's 'Little Star' and wow. I've read 'Let the Right One In' before, and I don't understand how the writer does it - everything looks so normal and then suddenly you realize that you are neck deep in strange horror, and still everything looks normal. It's so baffling.
I read from Wikipedia that the author has worked as a magician, so maybe that explains it. Misdirection and slight of hand. I would like to learn that trick!
