Tell Me Something True

I resurface from Baggingshield! Phew, it was some trip! There is amazing stories out there, gosh, how to describe them? Big as novels, complex as soap operas, filled with everything imaginable - fix its! Arranged marriages! Modern AU's! Trope-tastic candy store of the highest order!

I wish I had even one fraction of the writing skills those authors have, sigh.

No, scratch that. What I really want, is to learn how to unleash the gut-wrenching emotions in the story. Stab the reader's heart with the ice pick of tragedy, as it was. I want crying and desperate wailing from the readers while I tangle the frail hope of a happy ending in front them, and then snatch it away to get them come back for another round of tears and pain.

Hm. Now, how to learn that?

(Also, I might not be a good person. At all. Actually, I might be down right vicious... Oh well. Everybody is good at something?)
