The agent was wearing a sharp suit, deep black with blue shirt. It looked very official and Chuck wondered how Sarah would look like wearing such austere clothes. Probably just as gorgeous as she looked wearing everything else, he decided. The new girl was rather cute too, with blonde hair and dazzling smile. Of course not as cute as Sarah, Chuck hastily corrected himself.
Sarah looked at him sharply and frowned, like she could guess what he was thinking. Chuck quickly plastered his customer service smile on. It was little maniac looking, but it worked on situation like these.
“Chuck, this is agent Annie Walker. This is Chuck.” Sarah introduced. Annie offered her hand and Chuck shook it. She had a strong grip.
“Nice to meet you Chuck. I'm sorry to disturb you at work like this, but we are having a bit of an urgent problem and we thought you could help.” She flashed an another dazzling smile at him, and Chuck had to wonder if she had ever done any pageants, her smile seemed so well rehearsed and wide. Maybe it was some sort of CIA training thing. Sarah also had a dazzler smile in her repertoire.
“Another Walker, huh? That's a funny coincidence, they sure like that last name over the CIA, do they? Or do you like, pick the names up from a list or something? Because that would be funny if you had picked the same...” Sarah frowned again and Chuck stopped the babbling. Annie in other hand seemed amused. Chuck wondered what it would be like to hear her laugh. Maybe her laughter was as bright as her smile, he thought.
“No, Walker is my real family name.”
“She is fresh out of Farm, Chuck. Would you just look at the pictures, my lunch break is almost over.” Sarah said, glancing out to the hallway. The Buy More storage room was good place as any for a quick meeting, but there was always a chance someone would walk in unexpectedly.
Sarah stayed at the door and Annie walked over the package filled table and pulled a manila envelope from her handbag. She dumped the contents on the free surface and spread the papers like playing cards.
“Yes, well, here it is. I didn't know how this...thing...of yours work, but I just put everything I had together. There is pictures, copies of different things... Just see if you can get something out of it.”
“Yeah, that's good, I can try from those. I mean, I just flash, could happen from anything really, I don't even know how the Intersect functions in my...”
“Chuck!” Sarah interrupted, with the tone that said he was about to do something stupid.
“What?”
“I don't think you are supposed to tell me that. Bit above my pay grade really, I have to admit that I'm just a smidgen past the rookie state. I would love to hear the story, but I don't think you should tell me. It's the protocol.”
“Oh right. The protocol. Have to hold on to that at all times, right. I'll just look at the pictures now.”
Chuck shuffled the pile. It was mainly mundane things, like receipts from groceries and happy family pictures of little girl with a red over coat. His brain didn't bring any extra information why this was urgent case for Annie.
“I'm sorry Annie but...” Chuck started to say, until the last picture connected. The flash was short, but dangerous. “Wait! Here, the ring on this woman, see? It is connected to a witness protection program, the Green Chain. Does that help?”
“Yes, that's really great, thank you. I have to call Washington right now. Do you have a secure line I could use? ” Annie said, collecting her papers together.
“Sure. I'll show you. Chuck, you better go back to work.” Sarah said, checking the hallway before ushering Annie out of the door. “Don't forget I promised your sister I would come to dinner tonight, so see you after work?”
“Alright, see you later. You too Annie, it was nice meeting you!” Chuck said, and Annie waved shortly before the storage door closed behind them. Chuck sighed and looked over the shipping area. It was a disaster.
He should have a word with Jeff and Lester about it.

Date: 2010-09-04 07:42 pm (UTC)You're right about the dazzling smile Annie has, and the thing about following protocol made me laugh too. It's early days in the show yet, so that pretty much perfectly encapsulates the character so far ;-)
I hope you'll crosspost this fic, or post a fic announcement in
