I'll come back to the day six, I've wanted to write a meta bit about Logan in DOFP, but I'll have to sit down to think about it first. So here's days seven and eight instead!
Day 7 - In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (More than one is okay, too.) Tell us about it, tell us why you love it, give us some examples and recs.
I'm first to admit that I'm not a good fic reader - I read stuff sporadically, and very rarely in the same fandom where I write (there's this whole 'all these people write so much better than me, why bother' song and dance my inner critic puts up), but I do have some bookmarks!
Genderswap: I like all kinds of genderswap, I like writing it and I especially like reading it. More broadly it goes well with my love of AU's, and sometimes with my love of crossovers - my dream is to write a story of completely genderswapped MCU mix-matched with equally genderswapped X-Men :D Imagine fem!Logan, fem!Cap and male!Peggy battling Hydra-nazies in WW2? Or male!Jane, male!Betty, fem!Bruce and fem!Hank McCoy having science-shenanigans? Right? It would be great!
And speaking fem!Cap, here's one fic that I reread often because it's funny, (really) hot and romantic at the same time: Drunk a Lot of Drink Me by Cluegirl (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark)
A/B/O: One glance at my AO3 page and it's pretty obvious that I like a/b/o :D It's interesting what other writers do with the a/b/o concept, the variations are fascinating.
Here's one of my favorites, where the mood is tense, dangerous and erotic, and the spin on a/b/o makes everything that much better: Heat by Deastar (Bruce Banner/Natasha Romanov)
If I speak about my own writing, some motifs repeat themselves, such as smoking (especially lighters and cigarette cases), kissing (smudged lipstick), drinks, baths/bathtubs, and I have some weird thing where I talk about windows/windowsills a lot, I don't know why. o.O The subconscious is a strange thing.
Day 8: In your own space, create a love meme for yourself. Let people tell you how amazing and awesome and loveable you really are.
Well, if you wish, leave a comment :) Many people said in their posts that this was a difficult challenge, and I have to agree - but at the same time I have to admit that it would be nice if someone actually thinks that about my natterings. Double-edged sword, this day eight!
